DPW YARD OPEN

DPW Collection Days - What’s acceptable to drop off

On the third Saturday of each month, the DPW Yard is open to Dearborn residents with proof of residency for the disposal of large items and bulk materials not picked up at the curb. 

The DPW Yard accepts:

  • Household refuse
  • Old appliances
  • Couches
  • Mattresses
  • Outdated furniture
  • Extra household garbage

Hazardous and construction materials, fuel, and ammunition will not be accepted for disposal at either the curbside or the DPW Yard. 

Tires can only be accepted on designated tire collection days. Wayne County hosts several Household Hazardous Waste collection sites throughout metro Detroit during the summer months.
