A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is now in effect for thunderstorms expected to track across southeast Michigan this evening, mainly along and south of the I-69 corridor.
Damaging winds of 60 to 70 mph or greater and large hail of 1 inch or greater are the main threats, with localized heavy rainfall also possible.
DPW staff will be monitoring neighborhoods for downed trees. If you see a downed tree or wire, please do not touch them. Call 311 for storm debris, or 911 for downed wires.
Periods of additional showers and thunderstorms are likely through the holiday weekend.
