Extreme winter weather, including heavy snow, dangerously low temperatures, and wind chills below zero are expected throughout the week of Jan. 26-Jan. 30, 2026 in Dearborn, according to the National Weather Service and City of Dearborn public safety officials.
These conditions pose serious risks to health and safety, especially for seniors, children, individuals experiencing homelessness, and anyone without reliable heat. The City will have warming center locations available for residents and community members who need a safe, heated place to shelter this Monday through Friday.
Warming centers will be available at the following locations:
- Dearborn Police Department, 16099 Michigan Ave: Open 24 hours a day. For additional information, call 313-943-2240.
- Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave: Monday-Friday from 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. For additional information, call 313-943-2350.
- Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave: Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1 - 5 p.m. For more information, call 313-943-2330.
