The Bryant Branch of the Dearborn Public Libraries will be closed for long-needed renovations starting June 1, 2026.
Once renovations are complete, Bryant Branch will boast a remodeled first floor youth area centered around STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).
The renovations will also revitalize the in-use space on the second and third floor, bringing new conference and study spaces, as well as a dedicated adult reading space.
In addition to adding new entrances, the historic building will welcome visitors with an interactive story walk and nature space for patrons to enjoy reading, gathering, and programming outdoors.
To boost stormwater management, the transformation will focus on landscaping with the installation of native plants, rain, and pollinator gardens; reduction of impervious pavement; and functional shaded areas outside. The library will also add a drive-up book return and more accessible parking.
The renovations may take up to a year to complete.
This is the second major library renovation and construction of a STEAM center in Dearborn, following the Esper Library branch, which is expected to reopen this year.
During closures, services will remain available at the Henry Ford Centennial Library (HFCL) location, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Friday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. HFCL will be closed Sundays until after Labor Day.
The Bryant Branch drop box will remain closed during renovation, and all returns will need to be made at HFCL.
