The City of Dearborn has announced finalists for its second annual competition for aspiring entrepreneurs, the Night of Innovation, at Ford Community & Performing Arts Center May 12, 2026, presented by the American Arab Chamber of Commerce.

The following finalists were chosen by an independent panel to best represent the City’s innovative startup and entrepreneurial culture:

• My Breastfeeding Journey, LLC
• Sew Modest Studio
• Sakina Scrubs
• Overtime Print Shop LLC
• Dearborn Balloon Decor LLC

In addition, the following businesses will compete for the People’s Choice award:

• e3 Refillery LLC
• Secureshots313 LLC
• Rumman Books

The public is encouraged to register for the free event to catch the excitement live. Winners will take home cash prizes of up to $25,000 as well as exposure for their business idea through event partners.

The Night of Innovation is made possible through supportive partners, including the Song Foundation, Birdie’s Restaurant, EGG BAR, Boardwalk (Opening Soon) Bakri Coffee, Walmart Foundation, The New Economy Initiative (NEI), Tejara, and additional event partners. 

The City is excited to announce Local 4 reporter and Dearborn native Amaya Kuznicki will serve as emcee for the event.

The Night of Innovation competition will take place as part of the Bet on Dearborn Resource Expo, taking place May 13. 

The expo, hosted by the City of Dearborn Economic Development Department and supported by DTE Energy, CommonWealth Group, Bakri Coffee and additional event partners, connects aspiring business owners, builders, and more, with industry professionals and knowledgeable City officials. Attendees can learn about essential resources, funding opportunities, marketing advice, and expert guidance, empowering them to achieve their business goals.

The third annual Expo will include an inspiring, high-energy panel discussion hosted by Detroit-based storyteller and content creator Bryce the Third; a family-friendly Fun Factory; and more. More details and final program to be announced soon.
